SaskTel named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for third straight year

For the third consecutive year SaskTel has been named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers by Mediacorp Canada Inc. The Canada’s Greenest Employers competition recognizes 50 employers who lead Canada in building a corporate culture that values environmental responsibility. SaskTel is the only Saskatchewan-based company on the list.

“Over the past few years SaskTel has demonstrated real leadership when it comes to environmental sustainability,” said Bill Boyd, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. “SaskTel’s employees and customers should be proud of this national recognition for SaskTel’s efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle throughout the corporation.”

SaskTel’s environmental strategy involves a number of key elements, including waste reduction, recycling, increased fuel efficiency and an Environmental Management System that aligns with ISO 14001 standards. Mediacorp also named SaskTel one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for the 11th consecutive year in October 2010 and one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers in February 2011.
