SaskTel Scholarship

SaskTel may be the best choice for connecting you to your world, but did you also know it can be the best choice for connecting you to your dreams?

Well if your dream happens to be pursuing post-secondary education and getting some help along the way, then applying for a SaskTel Scholarship is definitely a good choice to make! Just don’t wait too long as the deadline for applications for the 2019/20 school year is March 31, 2019!

“Education is so critical to helping people achieve their dreams and career goals,” said Tim Jones, SaskTel Communications Manager External. “But with the costs around post-secondary education posing a challenge for many young people, we want to help make things a little easier for them where we can.”

Just one of the many ways SaskTel accomplishes that goal is through its scholarship program. Through it, numerous scholarships are awarded to Saskatchewan post-secondary students who are studying in a field related to information and communications technology (ICT) each year, including:

  • Seven SaskTel Scholarships valued at $3,000 each for Saskatchewan students attending an accredited post-secondary school in the province;
  • Three SaskTel Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) Scholarships valued at $1,500 each that are awarded to first year students enrolled in a SIIT program;
  • One Gord Kuhn Scholarship valued at $3,000 that is awarded to a current SaskTel employee or an immediate family member, who is a full-time student in a post-secondary undergraduate program. And;
  • Several SaskTel Métis Scholarships that are open to Métis residents of Saskatchewan who are students enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited post-secondary institution.

“With a growing emphasis placed on a knowledge-based economy, it’s become more important than ever to help the next generation develop the skills they’ll need to be successful” said Sharon Davis, SaskTel Human Resources Manager of Strategic Planning and Staffing. “One of the key ways for us to help do that is by encouraging young people to enroll in the types of programs that will be critical in the economy of today and tomorrow.”
