Carrot River among the latest bunch of communities to get an internet speed boost from SaskTel

June 28, 2019

SaskTel today announced that it has launched interNET Extended 50 in eight communities, including: Balcarres, Buena Vista, Carrot River, Kinookimaw, Regina Beach, Shellbrook, Whitewood, and Wolseley. Offering download speeds up to 50 Mbps, interNET Extended 50 is the fastest rural internet service SaskTel has ever offered.

“Our government understands that a strong internet connection is key to accessing the opportunities available in the digital world and today’s announcement further illustrates the great work that SaskTel is doing to ensure that people all across our province are equipped with fast and reliable internet so that they may take full advantage of those opportunities,” said Don Morgan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel.

With the introduction of interNET Extended 50, residents and businesses in all eight communities have a variety of SaskTel interNET Extended packages to choose from with download speeds ranging from 5-50 Mbps.

“We’re committed to delivering the advanced technologies our customers rely on to connect to their worlds,” said Doug Burnett, SaskTel President and CEO. “With interNET Extended 50, our customers in these communities now have access to more bandwidth than ever before, improving their ability to surf, stream, download, and share the online content that matters to them.”

All SaskTel interNET Extended packages also come with unlimited usage, in-home Wi-Fi, and 24/7 helpdesk support.

This expansion of interNET Extended 50 is a product of SaskTel’s commitment to invest $321 million of capital in Saskatchewan in 2019/20 and over $1.4 billion through 2018-2023. These investments will ensure that all Saskatchewan residents continue to receive some of the best communication and entertainment services in the world.
