SaskTel brings Gigabit-speeds to infiNET communities across Saskatchewan
March 29, 2022
SaskTel today announced that residents in all communities served by SaskTel infiNET™ service now have access to faster speeds with the launch of infiNET 600 and infiNET 1 Gig - full list of communities below. This comes following the successful launch of infiNET 600 and infiNET 1 Gig service in Regina and Saskatoon last year.
“I am extremely pleased with SaskTel’s dedication to continually improve their infiNET service,” said Don Morgan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. “Internet technology has become more important than ever before, and it is great to see that more people can now access the ultra-fast speeds that customers in Regina and Saskatoon already enjoy.”
Powered by SaskTel’s fibre optic network, infiNET 600 and infiNET 1 Gig vastly expand the speed and capacity available to infiNET subscribers. Offering download speeds up to 600 Mbps and 940 Mbps respectively, infiNET 600 and infiNET 1 Gig are well-suited for households that want to experience super responsive, no-lag gaming, smoother video calls, and crisp 4K/Ultra HD streaming, even when everyone at home is online.
“With SaskTel infiNET service, our customers have access to future-ready Internet technology that will continue to evolve to meet their growing needs for years to come,” said Doug Burnett, SaskTel President and CEO. “The expansion of these new Internet packages further demonstrates our commitment to keep the people of our province connected to what matters most to them.”
This year, SaskTel also plans to turn up infiNET service in even more communities including the City of Lloydminster and many other towns and smaller centres as part of the Rural Fibre Initiative. Once infiNET service launches in these communities, residents will be able to enjoy SaskTel’s full range of infiNET speeds.
The expansion of infiNET 600 and infiNET 1 Gig is a direct result of SaskTel’s commitment to invest over $1.4 billion of capital in Saskatchewan over the next five years. These investments will ensure that SaskTel customers continue to enjoy some of the best communication and entertainment services in the world.
