Scott Smith

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Scott Smith was appointed Chief Financial Officer on October 16, 2023. As CFO, Scott is responsible for leading the strategic planning, financial and risk management activities at SaskTel while implementing changes to drive strong financial results.

Scott has over 25 years of telecom experience and has held several senior leadership roles within SaskTel, most recently as SaskTel’s Controller from 2012 to 2023, where he led several business transformations initiatives and large financial system implementations. He has held several positions at SaskTel providing him with a broad range of knowledge and experience and served as the Chief Financial Officer of Navigata, where he was responsible for the financial results and leading the former expansion division’s integration into SaskTel. Scott currently serves on the boards of SaskTel International, and the SaskTel Pension Plan and was previously a long-standing board member and co-founder of the Prairie Minor Football Association.

Scott is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) degree and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA). He also holds a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation, has completed the CPA Controllership Program and holds a certificate in Advanced Trust Management Standards.

Originally from Saskatchewan, Scott and his wife Jodine now live in White City. They have two adult sons and enjoy traveling and relaxing by the lake.
